This site is intended to provide a space to find out about the ‘good old days’ of nu skool breaks.

Back in 2003, breaks was ‘the next big thing’, crossing over into the sets of DJs of other genres and featuring on the front covers of DJ magazine.  The sound was no longer confined to the second room, as nights devoted to the sound started to spread and it was sometimes possible to a find a breaks section in HMV.

But the origins of the sound started many years earlier and influences from many other genres have played their role in evolving and modifying the genre.

With posts about great tracks and albums, features on artists and labels and events of days gone by, these pages will help to document the history of breaks, show off the genre in all its glory and provide an archive of information for those who want to find out more about the history of the sound from those who experienced it.
